Time to stop and smell the Roses.....

Rose petals have a variety of uses in magick, crafting and decoration. A feminine energy, the Goddess Isis is tied to this flower (as a goddess of life, beauty and Magick) whose hieroglyph depicts a doorway or portal signifying a gateway to knowledge and higher power. Other deities include; Aphrodite, Eros and Adonis, not forgetting Venus who this flower is also ruled by. It’s element is water and sign Libra.

Roses may be used to substitute any flower in a spell, making it a handy item to have in your apothecary. Often associated with love and lust these are commonly used in love or attraction spells. Unleash your inner beauty by making tinctures, salves and oils - perhaps make a beauty oil combining it with marigold (also stocked). It can be used to invoke Goddess and to create your circle or use as altar confetti. Rose can be used in healing spells or jars. If you lack confidence, happiness or luck then add these petals to spells concerning these issues.

Great for crafting, they can be added to other dried flowers and herbs to make pot pourri which you could keep at your altar (or just make your room smell and look pretty!) by adding essential oils of your choice. They look great when scattered in homemade candle mixes.
