Agarwood: Can be very helpful for certain mental disturbances and emotionally imbalanced states. Used widely across Asia to form the base of many incenses with its sweet, woody and balsamic note. Used in spiritual traditions to achieve higher states of consciousness during meditation and purported to be an aphrodisiac - sone sources believe this effect is due to pheromone-type compounds present in the resin. Agarwood raises spiritual vibrations and can be used in transcendental meditation and high magic. It great negative energy neutraliser and stabilises mind and emotions.
Patchouli: Totally one dark, musky and earthy tone, feminine in its attributes, can be used in a variety of feminine based magickal practices including attraction spells or rituals and it is suitable for both males and females. Promotes passion, love and lust, great for instilling a little something extra to a relationship. Used in all its forms for divination and clairvoyance, so may prove useful in wearing a little of this to raise your psychic vibes or during meditation for visualisation and manifesting work. Used frequently in money, abundance & prosperity magicking, so wear for manifesting moolah!
Sandalwood: Prized spiritual oil and a great one to utilise whilst meditating to reach higher spiritual realms and to balance the chakra. Quite a sweet scented oil this one that certainly packs a punch! Normally a base staple for any pagan or holistic cupboard, it allows access to higher self during meditation by raising vibrations. With this in mind it aids psychic development. Used in spells relating to luck and enhancing wishes whilst providing balance, purifies the soul and is a great one for any spiritual ritual or just for smelling great throughout the day!
Dragons Blood: Dragon's blood is thought to add potency to spell work and was used in medieval ritual magick and alchemy. Amber: A sunny disposition, bringing cheer, light and hope. Jasmine: A wonderfully but highly feminine scent, Jasmine is said to attract spiritual love and used in spells or magick regarding money or wealth. It’s scent is said to inspire prophetic dreaming and induce sleep. Use as a means to carry the strength of your feminine deities, such as Selene, Diana, Freya, Vishnu, Isis etc. As it is ruled by the Moon, it makes sense to use its powers such as conducting magick related to its attributes on a full moon.
Opium: A dark souled oil, based upon the poppy scents this oil can be associated with inducing sleep, dreams and visions so can be used for dream or trance Magick. This perfume oil has a bit of a naughty allure, so some may use it for finding forbidden knowledge from the depths. This oil could be a stand in for working with Saturn based Magick. Wear if you are empathetic and seem to pick up energies, good or bad as white sage assists with preventing picking up the energies, leaving you with just yours!
Ylang Ylang: Another über heady, feminine scent, Ylang Ylang literally means “Flower of flowers”. Too much can cause headaches, so literally a smudge of this oil will do!
Rose: A feminine energy, the Goddess Isis is tied to this flower (as a goddess of life, beauty and Magick) whose hieroglyph depicts a doorway or portal signifying a gateway to knowledge and higher power. Other deities include; Aphrodite, Eros and Adonis, not forgetting Venus who this flower is also ruled by. It’s element is water and sign Libra. Often associated with love and lust these are commonly used in love or attraction spells. Unleash your inner beauty and infinite feminine wiles and wear to bring you a bit of lustful power to your energies. It can be used to invoke Goddess or used in healing spells or jars. If you lack confidence, happiness or luck then wear during spells concerning these issues.
Zen Meditation: Who doesn’t need a little zen every now and then? This creative oil can be used to carry feelings of calm, relaxation and peace wherever you go. Especially useful for the transition back to work, where we’ve been hidden away for months! Use during meditations or for when you need to feel a little calmer within yourself.
Night Queen: Hello dark lady, wotchoo’ up to?? This one is great for lovers of the Crone and darker aspects, for example Hecate or the Morrigan. Of highly perfumed notes, with what I would consider the scent of wearing pure incense! A smell reminiscent of India itself, with a darker mix of oils and essences this is power in a bottle. Give yourself the sense of authority and confidence with this one with an almost “opium” like scent, but something darker still underlies this one. (Also available as an incense! Midnight: Seductive, passionate and dark..but highly potent! The scent of this one is a little more floral with a tang of sweet sandalwood, vanilla and even a background tinge of rose. A sultry one for “evening pursuits” 😉, to raise your vibration towards love and passion!
Nag Champa: A hugely recognisable scent, Nag Champa is normally a combination of sandalwood and champak (magnolia) or frangipani (when it is known as just Champa). This oil is harmonising and purifying for your space and a nice oil to use during meditation or deep relaxation. Transport yourself away in your mind to the the jungles, villages and markets of India, where floral notes uplift and brings your spiritual journey inwards.
**NOTE: Always do a patch test first. Being made from oils they may stain clothing and surfaces so keep upright and away from materials. Use behind your ears to keep from rubbing on your clothing and wear at your wrist and let to soak in if wearing a shirt. Oh....and a little goes a long way!!!!!!!
