Lavender & Marjoram: Ahhh relax, the day is done! Unwind your senses and your body with this fizzy little treat. Lavender is a popular oil, with a smell some love or despise! I personally love the smell…possibly more so as it is a flower of Gemini (my birth sign). It is linked with general health and acts as a tonic to both body and mind. Bringing about peace and calm, it is said to soothe headaches and reduce anxiety and depression, which can be a bonus after a particularly stressy day. It raises ones spiritual love, leaving you open to all things that are possible and helps with the rational mind in order to see your way through. Not forgetting the benefits of its sleep inducing scent and it’s properties that reduce general muscle aches and pains. Useful for calming skin complaints too, with its anti-inflammatory properties. Marjoram is another oil to bring about a little peace, reducing anxieties and agitations that may have built during the day. It raises ones consciousness to decipher what lies within, allowing you to pick apart what is needed or what can be let go of. It is useful for aches and pains, plus it’s relaxing properties aid sleep also. The two oils combined may prove useful for the night-time, bringing back a sense of calm, aligning you back to your own consciousness and allowing your body and mind chance to rest peacefully. When we are stressed, we carry it in our muscles which tense and knot, so both these oils should help relax these pent up muscular aches and pains.
Frankincense & Rose - Two oils that are used to brighten skin and to promote inner calm and healing. Rose “the Queen of oils” is yet another unmistakable perfume, used for centuries for this purpose. Used frequently in love Magick, it also brings love back to ourselves and an appreciation of our inner beauty - which when it is re-discovered can shine on the outside. Use for healing from within that of emotional trauma and feelings of poor self worth. A potent self care oil, bringing about inner healing, soothing fractious states, which in turn promotes a sense of calm, lifts depressive states and brings back a little happiness. Rose can help us align with ourselves once more, offering a chance for spiritual attunement and raising our spiritual energy. Frankincense is another oil to heighten your spiritual awareness, being an oil of intuition and acts on the Third Eye (6th) Chakra. When we are stressed or doubt ourselves, it is quite easy to shut ourselves down to possibilities and let old soul wounds take over. Frankincense can assist in healing those wounds and stimulates a higher consciousness, easing those overactive thought processes which may impede deep meditative states. It proves useful prior to rituals to clear a space for the thoughts and intentions you really want, rather than those you don’t. With the feminine scented Rose and the masculine Frankincense combined, can balance the chi allowing balance to your energy field and provides an auric recharge. A definite love bomb..one not only to attract a little love to our lives, but one to allow us to love ourselves and gives us a chance to heal from inside out and from top to bottom!
Clary Sage & Juniper - When you feel like you have taken on too much negative energy, or you haven’t been grounding or cleansing yourself properly - naughty, naughty - these fizzy bombs will help during a little relaxing ritual bath. Juniper is an oil used for detoxifying and purifying not only spaces, but our bodies and minds too. When I’m overwhelmed I often feel it resting within my neck, like a weight; so I use Juniper to relax this area and allow me to concentrate on clearing my energy field. It also possesses protective qualities to act as an auric shield to diminish the amount of negativity or unwanted energy that gets through. It is an oil to improve circulation, assisting with reducing muscular and rheumatic pains caused by build up of toxins such as uric acid in cases of gout, or poor blood flow that causes cramping and swelling. Some research has shown that Clary Sage helps people to relax, so can be useful for helping to relieve anxiety and can also soothe muscle pains. It is said clary sage can induce feeling of euphoria, which is nice when you feel you are in a negativity slump! By relaxing your mind in this way, it is easier to release negative mind sets and problems. It benefits sore skin, by having a soothing effect to those problem areas that affect the whole body. This combo of oils is definitely one if you feel overwhelmed by negative thought patterns and need a little soul detox!
Rosemary & Thyme - Muscle aches and pains be gone in your warming bath with this herbaceous oil combo! Rosemary is used for cleansing spaces and banishing unwanted energy. It proves useful for stimulating the mind, reducing brain fog, aids in clearer thinking and memory recall- which may prove of benefit for students who are studying or revising for exams. It can also assist with alleviating stress headaches often associated with this sort of mind work and information overload. To aid this further, use a couple of drops of rosemary oil (also available on the site) on a cotton ball and inhale or keep close during revision (you can also add it to an oil burner or add to little hot water as a diffuser). When it comes to sitting your exam, again take a couple of drops of rosemary on a cotton ball with you to assist with reminding you of important information taken from your revision. It’s mildly analgesic qualities reduce the pain of muscular strains, which is especially good if you work in a manual job. A herb of longevity and health, it is used during convalescent periods following illness, so when those colds, flus, bugs knock you a bit flat, use to assist with the “I’m feeling a bit better” stage. Thyme is also one to use following illness and supports health, its ability to uplift and energise will help make you feel more like “you” again. Another that assists with muscle fatigue, those tight bits that seem to knot and those which become achy during illness. Areas of arthritis and rheumatism are said to be soothed slightly by the anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of thyme. Magickally it provides courage in endeavours, to boost ones confidence to succeed and may prove useful prior to conducting spells or rituals concerning this.
