Tree of Life: the Tree of Life features across many faith and cultures but is more often associated with Celtic & Nordic belief systems. However it can be found in Buddhism, Islam, Chinese cultures and more. The Celtic version of the Tree of Life ( Crann Bethadh) dates to about 2000BC and symbolises how forces of nature combine together in order to create balance and harmony. Since Celtic and Druidics believed humans came from trees, they were both living and magical. Trees were planted in a special clearing, set to guard the lands and acted as a doorway to spirit realms. The worlds were connected by both the branches rising upward and roots reaching downwards (think as above, so below) with the trunk connecting both worlds, therefore Gods were able to communicate in this manner. The tree is representative of strength, wisdom and longevity. Not forgetting the Wiccan wheel of the year, whereby birth, death and re-birth are celebrated.Tree symbolism also features in many other ancient cultures and religions, such as with the ancient Nordic legend of the World Tree - Yggdrasil, which was thought to lead to nine different worlds including the land of Fire, world of the dead (Hel) and the land of the Aesir (Asgard). This wonderfully designed piece features a Celtic knot-work style, with elements of nature such as a dragonfly to accentuate its natural energy.
Wiccan/ Witch Blessed Be: This beautifully designed holder features a cloaked female figure, which could be depiction of Goddess herself if you follow the a Wiccan path, or symbolism for female and witchcraft powers, with the words Blessed Be on one side. Smaller elements of Wiccan symbolism feature, with the faded symbol of Goddess adding to its allure. A great piece for altar or around the home.
Celtic Knot - Circle: A well known graphic, symbolising Celtic tradition. Often synonymous with Irish and Scottish traditional drawings, however Celtic ancients ranged all over Northern Europe including Germany, France and of course the colder Nordic regions. I personally love these designs, the intricacy and patience it takes to draw one is amazing. This votive features the Celtic Circle, Cross and other Celtic inspired knots. Great for those who observe the Celtic Pantheons or just love this form of artwork.
The Pentagram: Another symbol of the Pagan path, the five pointed star had the ability to represent the five elements. Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit/Universe/Aether (depending on your path). Each one interconnected showing how each is connected, even through time and space. Use at your altar or within your home to give notice to these elemental energies. Great for magickal workings.
