These are really neat little kits and if I do say so myself great value! Each comes with a small abalone shell, white sage smudge bulb, loose cedar, copal resin and a dinky feather! Great for your cleansing and clearing rituals, smudging your crystally bits or preparing your space. Not just for the "witchy" among us, smudging holds fast within various cultures and ideologies throughout the world. Whether you use for your more spiritual practices to heighten your senses, use for shamanic purposes, smudging them crystals and these too make a great gift for someone who is either starting out or whether they are seasoned in the art of smudging - yes of course, also ideal if you want to do a mini restock for yourself!
I feel it necessary to mention, many Native American peoples through time have been displaced and their practices dissolved, banned, having to live on lands as Reserves to keep their culture alive. I would like to hope that we as a different generation of beings, would give thanks to these wonderful cultures for bringing us a "new" old way of bringing the spiritual to our homes.
White Sage - well known in shamanic and mystical circles for cleansing and clearing your space of negativity, bad vibes and energies. Brill to use before and after rituals, spell work, divination or if any tension exists within the home.
Cedar - This cedar is actually part of the Cypress tree family, with various names given to it such as The Tree of Life (Native American) for its long standing ability to survive, its ability to resist termites or other insects that cause harm to trees, and age very well, alongside Thuja - the healing tree. Native Americans in the Pacific Northwest used cedar bark/needles for purification for those who had contact with the dead. It has uses in purifications, banishings/exorcisms, success workings, and magical power workings.
Copal - Lighter and airier than some resins, with properties to assist in raising energy for divination and spiritual exploits, for an extra kick use with a base such as sandalwood. Has purifying attributes which when combined with other purifying resins such as frankincense proves useful for clearing your space prior to rituals, spells or divination. Use for spells associated with Sunday’s attributes. Use to honour any deity, especially those relating to the Sun.
Use the abalone shell to rest your smudge stick in as well as dampening the flame to allow it to smoulder. The feather can be used to waft the smoke over your tools, within your space or oneself.
Each pack has the three different incense/smudges as listed. The abalone shell and feather are smaller ones and due to the natural state will vary in size/shape/colour.
